i was thrilled to know that joyce boutique in central has opened a pop-up laduree shop (only this month) in celebrating its 40th anniversary! laduree is right here in hong kong! i am a big fans of macarons, laduree’s bitter chocolate macaron was by far my favorite, it's so crisy on the outside but chewy and soft in the center, i love not only the taste but the look of them! i really wish they can make this permanent, would you happen to feel the same??
i'm always looking for interesting places in town for aiden. lately, i discovered the tree cafe on the 28th floor in horizon plaza. besides selling wood furnitures, tree also have a hip kid's corner with a role play kitchen, tons of toys and books. there're a nice changing room for babies as well. parents can enjoy a cup of coffee while the kids enjoy their playtime. by the way, there're so much more to see in the buliding too, if you're looking for toys, books, arts and crafts etc....you can pop down to bumps to babies or toys club and spend a good day shopping there.
althought hong kong is a small place, we enjoy exploring different places during weekends. there're always news shops and restaurants opening in the city....yet we enjoy tasting some old-style local foods sometimes....last sat, we took aiden to tai hang after papa got off from work and we had our lunch at a dai pei dong (an open-air food stall on road side) called Bin Kee. if you don't know Bin Kee already, you will want to make a visit and try their milk tea and a bowl of instant noodles with pork chop. they're so tasty and it's our all-time favorite! dai pei dong is now so-called a collective memory in hong kong....how lucky we are living in a city with all the great foods around!
papa came home with these chocolate cakes from agnes b. tonite~ i like the one on the right, with layers of chocolate and hazelnut mousse inside. thank you honey for the sweet surprise!
i've always been a cookies lover, recently i am so addicted to jam bakery's cookies. chocolate and oatmeal are my favorites. these home-made chocolate cookies are amazingly delicious, the texture is kind of like chocolate truffles, i like the way it melts in my mouth, it's really worth a drive all the way to tin hua to pick up a few packs of these yummy cookies last nite!~ it made my day.
