tonite for dinner, grandma made us vietnamese tomato shrimp noodle soup. she used chicken broth, fish sauce, dried shrimps and a great amount of tomatoes to make the soup base, then she used a canned of fine shrimp paste and eggs to make a creamy lump of rieu for adding to the soup. the soup was thick and rich in taste. i like eating this noodle soap with fist balls, fried tofu and cha lua. i first encountered this soup as a child, we had a vietnamese friend from church who made this soup for us. in fact, it's the best vietnamese food i've had other than pho and banh mi!
