i bought all of the books in this series for aiden, each page has a piece of famous artworks with a unique twist to engage childs senses in sight, sound and touch. it's a great intro to art for little kids, they will learn from this book the artworks by Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Roy Lichtenstein etc. aiden loves looking at the pictures and touching the "interactive" parts with his little hands in the book, as a baby i think they will enjoy the touch-and-feel and as they get older they can learn to appreciate the art as well. it's a fun book for kids, even adults.

hang a bear

while i was on my way to city’super in harbour city yesterday, i was attracted by these super-cute perigot bear bags displaying in the window of Pylones shop. it is not only an actual teddy bear that opens up to become a eco shopping bag, it can also be used as a hanging key chain on any purse. it's got 3 difference sizes and a range of trendy colors. I just couldn't figure out which one to get and finally decided to go for the plain black one in size medium, as black would go with most of my bags. i hang the little bear on my purse right away and ran off to do my grocery shopping. I am thinking to get another one in camouflage :P

a little garden

gardening helps children learn about the cycle of life and about time, patience, nature… I found this mini greenhouse by HaPe which allows children to grow real small plants or herbs on their own, it is made of birch plywood and bamboo and it allows gardeners to open the rooftop for planting and watering, fully functional plastic trays that can be filled with earth and seeds. It is pretty cool! I am going to order one for aiden for his birthday. A little garden of his own to love and nurture!

fitness

aiden has been going to mygym weekly since he was 9 months old, each class there incoporates music, dance, games, rides and a puppet show to end a class. there he learns how to do some gymnastics which can also be practiced at home. aiden seems to enjoy it very much. i sincerely want to say thanks to heidi, joseph and phillip here, they're really exceptional instructors. i think they are very kind and seems to enjoy playing with kids. it's always nice to see heidi's smile at the gym:)

ian's new hair cut

penfold

last day of the long easter holiday, we went on a picnic in penfold park with our friend paul and his wife, it's such a wonderful place coz we could bring our puppies with us!! there're not many places in hong kong that's open for the dogs to go, i really wish our government could do better! anyway, we settled down in a nice spot beside some trees, after a light meal, aiden started exploring the surroundings and the two puppies followed their little master closely. i enjoyed watching them playing happily together. so thankful that aiden is growing up together with the puppies, pets are truly an effective medium of communication and growth for kids as they can help them to improve their confidence, interpersonal and care-giving skills. I hope aiden will be a responsible person with a kind heart when he grows up.
we left as the sky was turning dark, they all had great fun today and fall asleep on the way home zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

science park

it's our first time to visit the science park in tai po today, even though the weather was a bit gloomy, it didn't affect aiden's mood, he was so energetic running around in the complex. i had to chase after him in order to take these pictures. earlier this morning, aiden had hurt himself from falling off our bed, the injury scarred his face, he was scared and cried intensely. even though I was worry, I tried not to show too much affection, i think over-protection will lessen his ability to solve problem in the future. aiden is a brave boy, who is also curious and with endless energy, sometime he just doesn't realize the dangerous around. I love him but i hope aiden can be a good loser who doesn't run away when he lose. I must love him and protect him wisely.

little ian is enjoying the company of auntie rachael, he's obviously in a good mood today.

aiden is exploring the nature with ryan in the organic farm, he likes to bring back his little new discoveries from nature.
