aiden's flamingo

i asked aiden what he wanted to paint tonight and he said "i want flamingo" with a smile! so, we flipped through some books and found a picture of flamingo from his favorite animals book. instead of the normal water color brushes, we used a chinese paintbrush this time! i feel it is easier to handle for little kids. firstly, i asked him to fill out the white background with different colors, then i hold his little hands to draw a flamingo.

| i then showed him how to add some details to the painting and he followed me drawing some circles, dots and spirals. i am glad that he showed patience sitting down to finish the painting and with less of my guidance this time, he was able to draw better than last time. i can see more life and energy in his painting. |

chocolate marble cheese cake

to try something new, i modified the blueberry cheese cake recipe i posted earlier and here is the picture of my baking today. what i did was to melt some hershey's chocolate, then poured 1/3 of the batter into the crust, then dribbled the melted chocolate. did the same thing twice. then i took a knife, sticked it most of the way through the batter and zig zag it around a little. then baked the cheesecake normally.
