I decided to try my hand at making Chinese turnip cake for the up coming Chinese New Year. 

ingredients:

2 1/2 to 3 cups daikon, peeled and julienned or shredded (about 1 1/2 to 2 lbs.)

4 dried mushroom, finely chopped

1 chinese sausage, finely diced

dried shrimp, finely chopped

2 cups rice flour 

1 3/4 cups water, divided

1 teaspoon salt 

2 teaspoon corn flour

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

chocolate scones

I love how quickly these scones can be put together, cut the butter into the dry ingredients then add the milk and egg then chocolate and you’re done.

ingredients:
325g all-purpose flour

2 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2/tsp salt

14g granulated white sugar

113g cold unsalted butter

180ml milk

1 egg

30g medium chocolate chucks

preheat oven at 200C
