failed macarons

my favorite food has to be a freshly baked macarons. it's a dessert originated in france. I’ve attempted to make macarons many times and failed miserably! they're quite simple in terms of the shell, consisting of just sugar, egg white and almond meal, but they're just too hard to make right! it’s all about learning from mistakes. making them is as much fun as eating them.

it’s this step that’s actually called macaronage, the folding is the critical part of making the batter, you shouldn’t fold too little or too much!


still unsuccessful, If you know macarons, you know they’re meant to have spongy feet and be smooth and flat on top, not cracked. again, they didn’t quite turn out how I was hoping:( fortunately, they were still crispy on the outside, and best of all, chewy in the middle.
