kid's bakery

papa was not feeling well. so he stayed home and rested during the weekend.
instead of going out, we invited our friends to our place making cookies and cupcakes. i love the idea of bringing children into the kitchen and start their culinary education early. my kids love to be involved in baking, i think that's because it's something sweet and sugary! baking is a fun filled activity for family and friends to enjoy!

first time baker mauv was having a blast playing with flour on the table!
auntie michelle helped to pipe circular shape cookies onto baking tray

ingredients (thanks auntie catherine for the recipe, it's yummy!)

190g butter
30g sugar
1/2 egg
120 g all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

preheat the oven at 180 degree C.
in a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in the egg and stir in the vanilla extract, then combine the sifted flour. bake the cookies in the oven for about 15 min or until lightly golden at the edges.
little mia was so excited!
thanks ian for your assitance
curious mauv's watching daddy cracking an egg
little jacob, would you like to have some cookies made by mauv?

jane was so into the toys that she didn't want to make cookies!

it's mia's 11 months birthday, why not blowing out some candles for her?
happy 11 months birthday to mia!!!!!
